Movin' on up (and in)...

Happy Friday!  Today is lease-signing day.  I get the keys and get to act like a big girl again .  I've got to admit, now I'm a little excited! 

I just found a blog with great info and updates on my new neighborhood...check out 'H Street Great Street' if you live in D.C. and want something un-Georgetown/Dupont/Adams Morgan to do.  Local Atlas Distric and Hill residents be forewarned:  from my experience, Friday night is a young, suburnanite night.

New digs and a shopping hiatus (choke)

I have clearly dropped the blogging ball, but no more!  I'm gonna get it together. 

BIG NEWS: Camden, the cutest dog in canine history, and I are moving.  So, we'll be (finally) leaving the free comfort of my mother's house and heading into big girl world.  No, I'm not that excited, and neither is he.  Clearly he has no clue that he won't have his huge yard any more.  But, Momsy is going to decorate for us.  She spends the majority of her retired days watching HGTV and obsessing over Candice Olsen, so hopefully she can design on my thin dime and give my apartment the "eclectic cottage" feel.  Anyone with a eye for decorating, feel free to help a design-challenge sister out!

To all you nice Catholic girls out there...it's Lent.  Yes, the introspective, 40-day period of self denial and sacrifice.  And what did this Foolishly Fabulous, J. Crew obsessed lady give up?  SHOPPING! Hold the phone, I know, it's crazy.  I can do it...I'll find a charity to donate the money I would have spent on *unnecessary item x*...maybe a women's shelter.  So, the beautiful pink/gray flannel wellies I got from j. crew, will be the last luxury item I purchase for a while.  Probably a good thing, since now I have actual big girl bills to pay.  *le sigh*

Did someone say 'Warehouse Sale?'

So, as my first official post after starting this blog some time in the fall, I decided to focus on the inspiration for the renewal  of my blogging interest:  the J. Crew warehouse sale!!!! *takes a deep breath*

I woke up early this morning and decided to check my "watchlist" via the eBay app on my phone.  Suddenly, it occurred to me that a lot of the people selling J. Crew stuff online live in either Lynchburg, Va., or Asheville, N.C.  LIGHTBULB!  That's where J. Crew has its distribution centers...WAREHOUSE SALE! So, I turned to the expert (Google) to  find out if there is such a wondrous event happening any time soon.  I came across J. Crew Aficionada (JCA) and her faithful followers, none too proud to admit their affinity (obsession) for my favorite store/designers.

Sadly, it doesn't appear that I will be heading to a sale any time soon.  But,that may be a good thing considering my closet collapsed on me while I was getting ready for work Monday morning.  Lucky for me, JCA has a weekly exchange and I can sell a bunch of the stuff that still has tags on it and/or is just too small now.  If you love a good deal and don't want to feel like the only person obsessed with the J.Crew sales, check her out.

Hopefully,  I'll be setting up some sale stuff myself soon.  Please check back in.  I promise not to limit my rantings to J.Crew.  I'm sure there will be plenty in the way of sushi, the wack jobs at my office, my dog's antics and why I'm almost 31 with no prospects in sight.
